I work with a diversity of individuals who have their unique challenges around common issues such as anxiety, depression, health concerns, trauma, and life transitions. People also look for support around stress management, relationships, personal growth and identity development, and grief and loss. The individuals I work with are motivated to make changes to experience healthier and more satisfying lives.

My style is collaborative and warm and can include a more direct approach when more guidance is welcomed. Drawing from different theories shown to be effective in helping individuals develop the means to better address and adapt to obstacles in their lives, I take an integrative approach to therapy and tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and backgrounds of my clients. I focus on fostering clients’ existing strengths, maintaining a present focus, and addressing clients’ cultural identities and their physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.

I appreciate the opportunity to create a connection and a trusting relationship with individuals and know the value of having someone to help you work through difficult transitions or changes in life or your journey to better yourself. I enjoy encouraging clients to discover their own resilience and potential for growth to achieve positive changes. My commitment is to support clients to create the best version of themselves and lead more authentic lives.

I hope to create a welcoming and supportive space where individuals can openly explore their struggles and develop practical tools to overcome these challenges and to better manage future stressors. Working together allows for the cultivation of different perspectives on clients’ challenges and more adaptive means for clients to regain stability and enjoy more fulfillment in their lives. I strive to help clients leave therapy with more insight into themselves and to feel confident and empowered to be their own agents of change.

I have enjoyed working with a diverse community of children, adolescents, and adults from various ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds with a wide range of mental health and psychosocial concerns. My breadth of experience includes providing short- and long-term individual therapy and group therapy in a variety of settings, including substance use treatment, residential treatment, community mental health, supportive housing, and hospitals. I have also conducted brief consultations with individuals during their medical appointments. A few of my specialties are the psychological difficulties that coincide with medical conditions, life transitions, and cultural issues.

I also have strong interests in women’s issues, gender and sexual identity and other LGBTQ-related issues, and the intersection of individuals’ identities, including gender, ethnicity, and sexuality and the exploration and development of individuals’ identities. I value diversity and welcome clients of all backgrounds. I believe in understanding individuals as whole persons, including all aspects of their identities and their impact on individuals’ experiences.

I continue to pursue my dedication to community mental health, underserved populations, and the integration of medical and mental health services in my work as a psychologist at Lyon-Martin Health Services, a community health clinic committed to providing excellent and accessible healthcare to all women and transgender individuals.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, reading, spending time with friends, exploring the outdoors, and watching live theater. I am also an animal lover, sports fan, and art admirer.
